so I've got the go ahead to start on a TSlim pump. On diagnosis last year I was started on 16 units of lantus and 1 to 10 CHO novorapid.
Im now 6 units lantus and using about 3-4 units of novorapid a day and am 98% in range with a high that is never over 11.
Any ideas?

You could be in the honeymoon period where your pancreas produces more insulin at the start of your diagnosis once it is no longer on so much stress.

Some people come off insulin altogether when in the honeymoon period.

Not sure I'd be so keen to move to a pump if I was getting your results on MDI, might be worth waiting till the honeymoon ends???

thanks Ellie, I'm imagining as the report suggests that the honeymoon will extend because I am likely to stay in range and steadier on the pump without the effort needed to do that on MDi. I am staying so tight because Im eating only about 80-100 carbs a day and watching my CGM like a hawk. the pump will allow me I hope to relax on what I eat a little more ( eat more!) and take a way some of the decisions we make each day

I should stress that the honeymoon period is only a possibility, because it's also possible for people to be misdiagnosed as T1 when they are actually T2 (or something else).

I have no idea whether a pump will keep you in range better/easier than MDI while on honeymoon.

Just be aware that you still need to make an effort on a pump and if your insulin needs change you'll be doing a lot of fiddling with the rates and ratios on your pump.

Good luck.
