Dupuytrens Contracture and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Hello, I am new so please forgive me if this is in the wrong topic place.

I went to my GP last summmer as my hands were cramping and there are tight stringy bits across my palms and up a couple of my fingers - I was sent away with the old 'well you are diabetic.... .Then later last year my hands were feeling odd and a bit tingly. During the Christmas break I was waking at night with pain in my hands and the tingling and cramps had got worse. I had to see a different GP and he said that I had Dupuytrens Contracture and referred me to the Musculo Skeletal Centre, who sent me for nerve tests (thinking it was Diabetic Neuropathy). The woman who did the tests said that I definately have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (Particularly severe in one hand). My follow up appointment isn't for another 6 weeks - can anyone suggest anything which may help with managing the pain/weakness in my hands?

My bloodsugars are well controlled (and always are) so please don't advise me that better control will fix this - that is my other instant irritation phrase the 'well you are diabetic so.......' being my worst!

Going to a chemist and wear hand splints at night.....majority of chenmist sell them. They help at night when the pain can be excruciating.

Spending on the level that comes on the machine that measures at the hosptila will depend whether you are bad enough to have it operated on. I've had both done, but I have kept my splints as I was warned that it could return. So far 12+ years on and it hasn't.

Been given splints to wear at night, I have worn them for 2 nights so far - hands might be a tiny bit less painful/tingly - but they are so uncomfortable I can't sleep! :(
