Had a car accident and blood was tested at the scene and it was 5.5. Now having to have a medical investigation from DVLA but I don't really understand why. Will I lose my licence even though my blood suggr was fine when tested at the scene?

Do you wear a libre? Was that showing low or normal bg before the accident? To be honest, unless the on site check happened very soon after you had the accident I'm not sure how relevant it is. (And I appreciate that the libre may not be that accurate either).

Can’t take your license unless hypo reported unstable / loss of warnings if u were hypo. Will be asking for medical report. I had my license taken away change over from human to synthetic insulin Many years ago ) Hope all goes well.
