e-bay and test strips.

That is a very kind thought, but it will open up all sorts of problems - for starters some would argue that you should not get more than for your own needs and hence not abuse the system.

And how would it work?? I have seen the test strips prices on Ebay go up and up - one person bought up almost anything put on there for a whole week and could obviously afford to do so.

But for someone like me (and I know I am not alone here) who cannot get test strips / lancets from my GP and cannot afford to purchase privately, not even on Ebay, how could the distribution be done fairly?? Or would it be put luck, whomever saw your post for the spare test strips, first and emailed you would get them?? That would upset me even more as obviously those who can easily afford to pay would potentially get free test strips too??!!

I appreciate you gesture, but I think you are much better off just get for your own need and not stir something where emotions run very high.

Currently my doctors allow me to request testing strips every time I put in for a repeat prescription.
If I did request testing strips with every prescription I would have too many for my own use.

I know I could not sell the extra on eBay but if I offered them on this site...?
For post and packing costs only.

Would there be any objection from site moderators or users to me doing this?

If members want to pm you and make private arrangements then that is not a problem on here but please do not discuss it on the open board.

I think this is a bit of an abuse of the NHS. Sorry if I sound a bit pi - but I don't think we should be taking advantage. If the NHS bill for test strips is kept artificially high due to this sort of thing, we are discouraging wider prescribing of test strips to those who aren't so lucky just now.

I have test strips down on my repeat prescription, but I don't request them every time - only when I am going to need them. The ones I have come in pots of 50. I test once a day, so this means that there are enough for about 6 weeks in each pot - therefore I request them 2 out of 3 months.
