Eating out

Steak, chicken or fish, use the butter meant for the rolls on the veg, coffee with cream - almost forgot the red wine :D

Any tips on what to choose in restaurants, its hard sitting there watching the family eat steak and chips and then dessert

Ask the restaurant staff to substitute the chips for more vegetables of your own choosing, most places are more than happy to accommodate customers requests and if they don't get up and walk and find somewhere that does.

We went out for our anniversarry to a really nice resturant, I had softshell crab for started and lobster salad for main and cheeseboard for pud, and expresso.

You can have biggest steak, veg/salad, add butter, always cheeseboard and a coffee.

I never have an issue eating out, just choose whole great foods..

I've just got back from a work dinner, I had a huge steak, and asked the waitress to swap chips for a salad, that way they are not brought to the table and you're not tempted. I was too full for dessert but the cheese board looked yummy! Then I had an Americano coffee with cream. Last week I went for a work meal to an Italian restaurant, even there you can get baked chicken dishes, veal or steak and they served veggies instead of pasta or potatoes. So far I haven't had any problems getting good food.

If we all went out for dinner together, it'd be one of those weird meals where we all ordered exactly the same thing

Quite right too. What would they do with all the carby foods that usually fly out the door (so to speak).
