I posted on here back a week before Christmas in absolute panic and despair still trying to digest the news from the doc being diagnosed at T2. Everyone was so helpful in giving this newbie some really good advise and tips on how to get through one of the worst possible times of year, and I took a fair chunk of it in amongst all the leaflets I was given by the doc and was amazed, I got through it and lost a few pounds on the way (go me!!) Well it’s been nearly 5 months now and now finding my feet now I’ve got my brain around things and can safely say I’m actually starting to enjoy my life a whole lot better. Certain things now make so more sense which I know were the signs of diabetes. My hbA1c reading then was 75 and I saw the diabetic nurse end of March and it had dropped down to 56, so did my weight as lost nearly a stone!!! Now eating so much better and the sugar had nearly disappeared from my diet, lowered my carbs a bit and now I feel so much better for it!!! I thought I would share the start of my journey being a T2 just to prove that with a little help from people just like you and a few small simple changes from myself, living with diabetes isn’t all that bad!

Congratulations!

You might want to download the mySugr app. Enter your readings and meal details for about a week and it will geve you an estimated HbA1c. I find it highly motivating.
