EMPAGLIFLOZIN & GLUCOPHAGE

Hi All,

I am taking the following :

EMPAGLIFLOZIN 10mg a day
GLUCOPHAGE SR 2000mg a day

Thankfully no side effects, but my GP has told me to take them all after my evening meal.

I was recently in hospital for an unrelated shoulder op and my blood glucose levels were fine in the morning (under 7), but unsurprisingly rose through the day, into double figures.

So my question is this, would I be better off splitting the dose, breakfast/lunchtime & evening, to even my bloods out?

Any advice/experience would be appreciated.

Jay.

Hi mrbluejay and welcome.
Unfortunately we can’t advise on when to take medication, that’s something you need to discuss with your Health Care Team.
Some members here maybe able to tell you when they take these drugs, however everyone is different so you need to talk to the people who know your whole medical history to make changes.

Hi, I was told to take the empagliflozin in the morning. This was the pharmacy instruction too. If I took it at night I would be up peeing a lot! Maybe confirm with gp/pharmacy.
