so...has ayone else just received the email from here regarding the new endobarrier device?

have you registered your interest yet? i have just to learn more at this stage. i'm not sure if i will have the rpocedure to fit it or not but it claims to reduce your blood glucose and will reduce your weight by up to 18% in 9 months without surgery.

i'm orn on this one at the moment. i have always said that i would not go down any baratric surgery to reduce my weight as i kow i havent given it the right amount of effort to lose weight (i got myself this way i should chane it etc) but this isnt invasive surgery.

I dont know enough about it at this stage but am looking forward o finding out more.

I've received the email at half 7 about the endobarrier and have signed up an interest for it as i need to lose a large amount of weight and I am going to try and find out more about it over the next few days.

Hi ..I had the endo barrier in December 2011
And taken out December 2012
I lost 4 stone and still losing ..I also took fresh lemon juice in water each day to counteract the acid problem
I had no ill effects it made me eat less and still the same to this day ..I did research on it and decided it was the better option for ..my medication has been reduced by 3/4's and am looking to be off medication soon ..my HCB levels have been normal since the week I had it fitted ..and to me it was a godsend ....I highly recommend it but accept all bodies are different to the way they react to anything ..but for me ..brilliant

Hi all,

How did anyone manage to get the Endobarrier fitted on the NHS? My doctor is useless and doesn't keep up with the latest developments, so I've missed out when they were doing the trials at Hammersmith hospital.

Anyone else know where in the Uk it's being done on the NHS?

Thanks,
Ania

hi there, I know this thread is a month or two old but I wondered how the OP etc are getting on? I've only just heard of the E.B. via this post and looked a bit at links posted. it's VERY expensive for something that mimics a bypass but the non-invasive part appeals.. I was booked in to have a G.B.P. last year and had to self fund as the NHS tdo not provide wls in northern Ireland. knew my biggest hurdle would be the pre-op diet but thought having a date for surgery would give me the push I needed to stick with it but sadly not. it's been hard for me to accept that wls is not right for me at this time and indeed might never be.

Hi Ania
I know your posting is a bit old but the procedure is not available on the NHS yet except if you get it through the Revise Diabesity study info easily available on the internet. They are doing the trial in London Birmingham and Glasgow if you get on the study there is still a chance you won't be in the group that gets it but it is a 1 in 3 chance you won't get it. I got mine fitted yesterday so have no progress to report yet hopefully the stomach will feel better in the coming weeks.
