England football team

I posted the same joke, (and the current England team is one!) in the thread titled 'this has nothing to do with diabetes'
It's still funny though!

Out of context! ALERT!!!!

Would you own up to knowing these losers?

So is this joke "politically correct" an unoffensive to orphans ?

Whilst I have no problem with the joke, it isn't strictly PC is it? It can't be if we are mentioning specific groups of people - Brazilian orphans and English footballers. It has to be wrong to joke about orphans and not all the England squad are sad losers...some of them haven't played yet. I'm not sure we should be joking about anything on this forum, it's bound to offend someone. Some people don't have a sense of humour, but then, some people don't have sense either.

Surely if you put it in the jokes thread then you know it has to be about someone, as long as it is within bounds of decency or forum rules.

As such, an Englishman, Irish and a Scotsman........

Yes of course, and I don't have a problem with any of these type of jokes, but some do have a problem with them. They are usually the ones who shout the loudest and I personally am sick of the shouting, so hence my reply. I'm not sure a 'jokes' part of the forum is a good idea any more because when the joke goes sour good people get hurt.

If a group of individuals whether they be Elgland footballers or any other group are to be excluded from humour then jokes as such will cease to exist. If we were to exclude a topic because it might not be considered PC by perhaps a single individual then most of the 'jokes'' in this section of the forum should have been complained about. But they weren't.

If there are those who believe this thread should be deleted then I'm happy for one of the mods to delete it. And they can delete my account at the same time.

I don't think I could do the mind police bit, it's just not me! I have enough problems without the soaps and the do gooders!

I hate any kind of judgemental views especially playing on hate, and when they don't even know anything about said individual!

It's a bad day when you can't chuckle at a joke. If it's not your cup of tea then ignore it and move on? Or have a wee cry about it and write a paragraph about how upset you are...

I quite agree with all of you and I don't want this thread deleted. More importantly I don't want my friends deleted either, but that's exactly what happens when people can't take a joke. I don't think trying to be funny is worth the risk anymore.

Sorry julifriend, I was wrong to take it out on you and your thread. I am leaving now, please forgive me

best wishes,
zand

No @julifriend it wasn't your fault. The joke was 100% fine and was funny. I am upset over some recent events on the forum and I took it out on you. You are innocent in all of this. I had the cheek to ask you for forgiveness when I don't deserve it. I am sorry I behaved so badly.

Watch the footie and come back and read the baked bean thread or something else light hearted, you are in need of a bit of me time!

Yeh, footie is always a good idea......unlike my contributions this evening.
