It is clear that over the last weekend several previously banned members of this forum have re registered using different usernames egged on by one particularly persistent forum knocker on his blog. I assume a weekend was chosen for this 'campaign' as there dont appear to be any moderators now overseeing the forum outside of office hours.
It cant be right can it that a few previously banned ex members can re register and cause turbulence like an eddy in the otherwise smoothly running waters of this forum?
I assume their aim is to bring down this forum as they did the old Low Carb forum, which IMHO if allowed to happen would be a travesty and a huge loss to all the diabetics who have received good advice on this forum despite what certain people blog to the contrary.

Whatever the antecedents, a perfectly reasonable post about the viability, or otherwise, of Low carb/low fat was attacked immediately instead of a discussion we can see the start of another slanging match!
The newly diagnosed must think they've joined a nut-house.
Until certain older members are muzzled things will not improve. The recent banning of Jay Wortman, a recognised authority on low carbing, is a case in point. A lot of the Mod edit: could be seen as offensive here seemed never to have heard of him or Jimmy Moore et al.
Reading some of the latest books and blog postings - often by doctors, cardiologists etc. - is beyond many here. When someone posts a link to something contrary to the cherished beliefs of those who perceive themselves as Mod edit: could be seen as offensive, they either decline to pursue it or find the appearance of an advert on the site an excuse to reject it's credibility.
Mod edit: personal comment
Even worse is the very real possibility of a person in need of help giving up and following the NHS guidelines.
By the way, I'm not a dietician, just a type 2 who has got his BG down to non diabetic levels, reduced his cholesterol from 5.5 to 4.7, halved trigliycerides and reduced his blood pressure. I eat very low carb, moderate protein and high fat. I now have more energy than I've had for years. No margarines or such, just honest to goodness animal fats, unrefined coconut oil and olive oil.

I agree with you - how am I supposed to know why someone is launched into when they put - what is to me - a reasonable post up. CowboyJim puts up lots of interesting stuff and never gets flamed -s that because he's known rather than new?
