We're not the same it seems..
England Leave by 6%
Scotland Remain by 24%

If it wasn't for the weather up there I'd be moving to Scotland too.:) Still at least London voted against Brexit too.

I wouldn't say I'm typical of a Sunderland resident as ive only been back home for 3yrs but I can see it from both sides.
I will always expect more from my government.
Wherever I live in the uk.
I think a percentage of an attack on Cameron, not just wanting to preserve British life due to neglect.
Everyone I speak to in person (not on-line) all around the uk are pleased with the overall result.
Many of these are not computer savy. They have used their eyes to see what the EU has done for them. Talk is cheap. The proof is in the pudding!
Yes its going to be a difficult few years but Cameron has taught me that we are in this together and everyone has to compromise to provide a stronger uk.
Some are suffering, but told for the greater good.
So lets do it - properly.

David Cameron has just resigned.

Yes he will step down by their Autumn conference and wants the new leader to action Article 50.

My money is now on Boris, I can't see another contender in view of the referendum decision.

George will also go at the same time as Cameron, so finding a solid chancellor will be interesting.

When all is said and done, I remain glad that we live in a democratic society:)

I feel sick.

I wasn't joking when I said Prime Minister Johnson. That seems very likely now.

I wasn't joking about economic uncertainty; look at the pound this morning at a 30 year low. Look at a 10% drop in the FTSE. Yesterday London was the financial centre of Europe. In 3 years it will be Frankfurt.

At least I'm not at Glastonbury I suppose, but that is the only upside I can see.

Is financial prosperity the only measure of success?
Id prefer to be in the top 5 and have a happy and content country.
Success is measured in many ways.

The stock market's in meltdown there.

I'm trying to trade, and getting knocked back because of the sheer volume.

A massive vote for racism and stupidity is not a good result for anyone long term. We've voted for a more right-wing government, who will, due to falling revenues be faced with a choice - end tax cuts for the rich, cut down on tax-avoidance, increase taxes on the poor, reduce benefits and bring in more austerity. I wonder what they'll choose.

So is the rest of Europe by the looks of it

It's utter chaos, like a massive closing down sale on some stocks.
They'll recover, but I don't even have confirmation on any of the deals yet.
Going to be a long day for the traders there.
I guess that's why the referendum was on a Thursday.

Finding a solid PM is going to be impossible from the pool available...

In all parties

Immigration was the focal point and it was evident throughout the campaign overshadowing the other important factors like the economic concerns, it came up in all the QT EU Debate Specials and there was a genuine concern that immigration numbers were out of control, had David Cameron controlled immigration like he promised he would do (after Labours lapse attitude to the problem when they were in power) then I have no doubt that the Remain vote would have won the day and the PM wouldn't be throwing the towel in today.

That's a very romantic way of looking at things. The reality is it's hard to be content when the country is in a financial mess. People voted leave because they thought they would be better off financially.

I watched his speech, it seemed to be 'it's your mess, I'm going to leave you to it, while I take my money to an expensive beach in the sun'
The timing was also at the worst stage for the financial market, but at least he had to good grace not to actually walk out this morning, or call an election.

Boris for PM and Trump for President........ what a :banghead: combination.

maybe calling an election would be a good thing!
