Even Artificially Sweetened Fizzy Drinks Increase The Risk

So corona was bought by beechams, and then sold to BritVic. The sole survivor from corona is Tango!

It might be questionable research, but my body concurs that diet drinks are as bad as sugary ones. Short term they are fine. Long-term I am convinced they are one of the things that helped me suffer from insulin resistance, which is basically what T2 is. I wish I had never forced down that first can of 'Tab' back in the 70s.
i'm trying fizzy water as a treat and aiming to out law diet no added squshe also - but the real battle is getting offf food and drink as comfort / reward...

as I have written in another thread

It's possible that the result obtained are showing some correlation but drinking soft drink is not the culprit and it's only a proxy for another cause, or there's an error in the statistics, because seems strange that artificial sweeteners could trigger an autoimmune disease.

I could assume that a particular kind of sweetener is dangerous, but that a generic consumption of soft drinks could cause both T2 and LADA is strange - being a retrospective research, the dangers on searching on a skewed statistical sample are high: is the same problem that most of heroine addict were hemp smokers before.
Actually recent research seems to show that any artificial sweetner can trigger an insulin release in the same way as sugar or carbs, It is to do with the enzyme Amylase which is released into the saliva when a sweetner hits the tongue, It triggers the sweetness feeling like sugar, then hits the gut to say watch out theres carbs about, So it really is a case of empty calories.
Diet sodas push my readings up unless they are accompanying some food for the insulin to work on. Protein is better since it is slower to digest than carbs.

As's type 1, you do not have this problem as I and other type 1s are unable to produce insulin in any form.Thats why we are stunk with insulin injections. (excuse the pun, stunk)
