Hi all. I'm a type 2 diabetic and have been since I was 24, I'm 41 now. I'm on all kinds of Meds for Bp, chol etc. I'm on twice daily exenatide injection, Metformin and gliclazide and also 36 units of lantus at night. My Hba1c at clinic was 9.4. My issue is I've thin arms and legs but carry lots of fat around my middle. I had an ovarian cyst when I was 17 which measured 10 x 10inches. I measure a size 18 on top but about a 22 at the bottom. I don't have a problem with the care I get but I'm due to see the diabetes nurse on Thursday so I've a question to ask. Has anyone come off exenatide to replace it with insulin? I'm on lantus at night but I'm happy to take it more often or a different one and come off exenatide. My consultant said if he was following guidelines he would take me off it. Any thoughts or comments gratefully received. Thanks.
