I have started swimming most days to try and get more active and get fitter but every morning after swimming in having a hypo, I've tried contacting my DSN but she hasn't got back to me I'm wondering if any of you could help me of what I need to do I reduce my fast acting insulin but it doesn't do anything

You need to reduce it further or eat something extra like banana
what time do you swim?

[QUTE="shelbyyyy, post: 880881, member: 121176"]I usually go swimming about 9ish[/QUOTE]
Is it in the morning? Do you swim after breakfast?

Or both! You can even skip your breakfast bolus altogether if necessary. How much do you take? What do you eat for breakfast? What level is your blood sugar before you start swimming? How much time is there between breakfast and swimming? There are a lot of ways to alter the outcome!

Hi there,
Take a quick look at this page and watch the video - it might help explain what's happening. It would be far better to eat after your swim (well, if it involves taking insulin) but there are other factors such as how long and how hard you are swimming which will also impact on what happens to your BG levels
