Type 1 Eye bleeds

Hi all,

Since having my viteratory (SP) last year I have had more bleeds that ever.
Just wondering what you do at work if you have bleeds do you go off sick or perservere ?

Vitreopathy I believe?.....

Get it checked please. Doubt if we can help with that stuff much as we'd like to. Eyes are paramount so take care

Agree with Mike - your eyes are of paramount importance, please get this checked out ;)
 
Everytime I make an emergancy appointment at the eye clininc they just say "its to be expected and it will eventually clear" It just upsets me as I find it really hard to concentrate at work - I work at a PC all day.
 
Hi Nicola, i'm sure it's just their way of trying to put your mind at rest, but I believe in persistence, it's your eyes that are at stake here, not their's so make the call and explain your fears, don't feel dismissed by their comment - big hug ;)

Quite shocked that they have said this post Vitrectomy.

@nicolabarnett, instead of ringing the clinic later just turn up and ask to be seen as an emergency appointment, just say that you are frightened and extremely concerned about your eyes and its effecting your everyday life.

Now you are worrying me nobelhead, should this not be happening ? X
 
I was going to say the same thing. Just go in and say you need an Emergency Eye Appointment. They won't turn you away if you are on the doorstep and if there is anything wrong it will be seen there and then. In addition, if there is nothing wrong, well, you'll have had it checked out and have peace of mind.
 
Presumably Eye Casualty told you it was to be expected and nothing to worry about AFTER they examined you and found nothing else untoward. With a fresh bleed, I think you need re-examination in the Eye Clinic. Hopefully, they'll tell you the same as before but they can't do that until they have examined you.

Didn't mean to worry you Nicola, but if your having bleeds then someone needs to examine your eyes and work out a plan on how to stop them, the very fact that they fobbed you off on the phone is a cause for concern.

Hi there, I had a very painful and blood shot eye one week ago, it looked a mess. Made an appointment with a GP on Tuesday, he thought it was secondary glucoma. He telephoned the emergency eye clinic ( I am under another eye hospital 30 miles away) wrote a letter and I was up at the EEC at 1pm. I had a scratch in my eye and I was given ointment for 5 days.
Tbh your emergency eye clinic is being negligent, how can they say it is to be expected when no one has actually looked at your eye to confirm this !! You deserve quality care and support, our eyesight is so important.and I hope you get seen very soon, take care RRB
 
Thank you everyone, I will try to see my dr tomorrow and hopefully I will be seen at the eye clinic tomorrow x
 
Good luck, hope you get it sorted I have had eye bleeds and they were not taken very seriously by my local eye hospital they should at least see you even if they don't treat you, be persistent.
