I wouldn’t normally ask on here but I have 1 eye that’s sort of hurts as though I’ve got something in it but it feels like my eye is blood shot. Would it be best to ‘try’ and get in at my drs or go to an opticians?

Even a visit to your local pharmacist if you can’t get a immediate appointment with your GP opticians, they will be able to look at your eye and see if there’s anything in it like an eyelash or a spec of something and they will be able to advise you further if you need to see anyone else.

From memory, @Sarah69 , you work in a hospital? If you can’t get in to your Doc, or Optician, you may have an eye casualty where you work.

Eyes are precious.

If not go to the diabetes nurses in the hospital and ask to see the person who does the eyes bit and they should do it for you and give you the answer there and then as I have to go to the main hospital for mine as I have a detached retina and it was done by my diabetes and that I thought was with the cigarettes I was smoking before hand but I was told it was to do with my diabetes and that I have no chance of it being reattached so now I'm blind in one eye and I'm getting around with it just got to be cautious what is around me

I had something similar recently and booked an eye appointment at Specsavers. You have to fill in a form prior to your visit and they phoned me for further details and then got me into the soonest eye health clinic (within 24 hours). They did a full eye health check and it was done on the NHS. Turns out I had a vitreous detachment rather than what I was worrying about. They were very good - I would phone your local branch to get an urgent eye health appointment. Hope it all works out ok.

Can’t do anything for me as it’s over the year mark and that is where they go to and they took two and a half years to figure out that the retina was detached so they can’t do anything else now and when I get my eyes done at specsavers as I wear reaction lenses they even said that they were unaware that it was detached until I told them as it wasn’t possible to see by them when they looked at it and the same thing when I had my eyes done in the hospital and they done a ct scan of my head and they were looking at it for a while it showed up nothing and they said that when they did the eye tests as well so that they don’t know if they missed anything or if it was just an infection that caused it but it won’t attach itself ever again even if they did surgery because I can’t see anything and they said if it was able to see a slight bit of anything out of the eye I would have a little chance but as I don’t they wouldn’t operate so that is that the only way is if it gets a infection or gives me a problem then it comes out otherwise it stays in until then I will get a glass eye when it does come out
