Eye Problem

Hi all.

I am having some focus problems with both my eyes and a rough scratchy stingy feeling mainly in one eye.
Dose anyone else suffer from this sort of thing.

I was 1st checked for high BS's this Christmas as my focus became very variable over night, it lasted about 3 weeks then was perfect again on Christmas morning when I woke (@ 4am 2 young kids  ) Oh I was elated.

I have been keeping everything below 8, apart from a few spikes testing stuff out. 10-12ish.

I have also had 3 eye tests and another coming up on Friday, every thing is good and I don't wear, or need glasses. 20/20
I have been taking some drops recently for dry eye which was diagnosed.

I can't find any reason for the focal change 1 hour sharp as a pin next blurry and 30 meters. Night vision away from lights still very good. My blood pressure is now down to 108/70 from 138/90 which might have been a thought before.

I can also feel when they are not right, kind of heavy feeling around the sockets. It is wearing thin now as it can really hinder concentration.

This is mainly short sighting problem, however I have had a recent long distance problem for about 4-5 days, couldn't even read my watch unless my arm was fully extended, that has passed now. :shh:

Any pointer welcome

Mention it at the eye screening this Friday, failing that see your gp and discuss your symptom's with them, sorry can't offer any pointers I'm afraid.

My advice is do more to lower your blood glucose levels. According to your profile, your last HbA1c was 11 so you do need to get that down to 7 or preferably 5-6. High BG's will usually fog vision to some degree. It happens to me when I get a severe infection and my usually tight control slips.

Thanks for the response.

I have mentioned it each time so far but they say everything looks good on the back of the eyes, so I'm not too worried about damage. I have just got back from the supermarket, when I arrived to shop my eyes were fine could see from 1 end of the store to the other, by the end of the shop at the tills I couldn't read the isle sign clearly. Strange and holly annoying, but could be worser..

Thanks Hobs, yes I was up at 11on the HbA1c back in January when I was diagnosed, over the past 2 months or so I may reach 8 but like today 6.4 has been my highest reading. Back then I was a 2 sugar x 7+ cup's of tea man with sandwiched, finishing off the kids food, eating whenever and having a drinking or two in the evening & smoked.
Now I only eat fish, prawns or crab grilled or curried (no rice) vegetables (Not root) nuts, seeds & occasional oats, green tea or water, no dairy, meats, bread or produced food, alcohol or ciggs although I may try some chicken this weekend. (Yes; I had a radical stoppage after the doctors that day)

I would like to try and average out my readings to get a rough idea of what my HbA1c will be when they call me back in. Is it an easy equation to get a vague idea on? (If I'm doing ok I would like to expand my diet some)
