Eye screening results

I had my screening done about 4 weeks ago and just received the letter with result. Last year I was told I had "mild/slight" retinopathy which is non-proliferative. This year, the results show "some background retinopathy". Some years ago, I remember being told "mild to moderate"
I suspect I'm reducing it slowly by TIGHT control [HbA1cs in the 5s]. I wish I knew exactly how they define their terms and I'd like to see comparisons of the photos. However it's not important enough to bother the doctor over. I'm reasonably satisfied.

I looked a my own photos and I couldn't see anything. The photos were not large and I'd had drops in my eyes, so thwawt doesn't mean much, but seeveral years ago I saw one of my photos on a large screen and there were "Cottonwool spots". there are none of those now.
That's why I think I'm improving the situation.

Mine gets checked with fluorescein dye (that's just the system here) and the picture on the computer is huge but even then I struggle to see what the ophthalmologist is pointing out. TBH I don't really know if I'm looking at new alterations or the same ones each time. He has written the same report every year for the last 7 years. As long as it stays like that each year I'm happy.
(though like all of us probably a bit nervous before each check up)
