FACTOR 50 SUN CREAM

Hi.
I am going abroad in September and wondered if people had recommendations for any sun cream that hopefully won't bring me out in a heat rash as I have sensitive skin since being a type 1 insulin based diabetic. I won't be in the sun all day as like to be in the shade too.

I don't think T1's need different sunscreen than non diabetics.
You could try a couple of sunscreens before going abroad to make sure you don't get a rash from them.
 
I don't have any specific brands to recommend, but my skin is also very sensitive, especially to the sun, so I get kid/baby sunscreen - the sensitive skin version, and always SPF 50+.

I'm not sure what's different about kid sunscreen, but if it's good for them, I don't see why it wouldn't be good for me.
 
I used to find the sun very painful - I really felt as though I was burning just to be outside in sunlight - and I was, my skin would become bright salmon pink and so painful - and then I stopped using seed oil.
From using/needing factor 50 I have found that I can go out in the sun without sunscreen, and I have become tanned this year for the first time in decades.
I always used 'healthy' sunflower oil - but stopped after diagnosis.
I used to get the kid's high SPF or even total sunblock - usually from Boots chemist, as they stopped the pain most effectively, but I needed to reapply after a couple of hours.
 
We use Invisible Zinc SPF 50+ Face and Body cream 75g winter and summer when we are out in the sun here. :D
