The recent fads of changing so many food product to 'Plant Base' or VEGAN is quite worrying. Being diabetic & also having a cow milk allergy you would think VEGAN products would be good. BUT I am finding many food items I have been used to rely on being milk free & low sugar, low carb are changing to 'Plant Base' but this change involves higher sugar content and many additives to compensate for the ingredient changes and not particularly low in carbs.

all the more reason to buy fresh food and cook it yourself.
All food manufacturers are more interested in their bottom lines than anyone's health

I am 100 per cent a meat eater. Show me a lamb and I think mint sauce. I do sometimes browse vegan recipes {to go with my chops} and I have no problems with vegans if that is their ethical choice. Plant based products seem to be full of odd substances and are overly proccessed. Don't get me started on this stuff where meat is grown in a lab. I'll pass, thanks.

Hi,

Do you mean a vegan alternative to products by manufacturers already on the market, or a complete plant based change regarding the recipe of an "established" product?
I wouldn't disagree there can be products marketed for any diet that have questionable ingredients.

The market always gets behind something that will sell. Not long ago it was protein this protein that, high fibre this, low fat that. Health is secondary or maybe 3rd or 4th in the list of priorities.

Some great people on this site (I will be pm'ing more this weekend) and some premier league well known LCK expert advocates have our back on this related area. I am excited by our chances to shine a light, especially as the food system is already plant based by content - think about cereals, rice, potatoes, sandwiches, cakes, chips, crisps, pasta, bread, pizza etc.
