:D Hi newby again i have recently noticed i am stumbling to my left and when i go on a treadmill my left leg seems to be throwing itself out could any of this be related to my type 2 diabetes :?

Unlikely to be diabetes related ... but you never know, weird [****] happens sometimes .

I think you should go and get yourself checked by your doctor just to be on the safe side.

You could ask if you might have arthritis in your lower spine. I have similar problems only on my right side - no pain whatsoever most of the time. I have finally had a diagnosis of lumbar spinal stenosis - basically, arthritic growth on the lower vertebrae affecting the nerves. I do have backache now, and occasional severe leg muscle pain, like sciatica, but now I know what it is I can cope very well. Do check with your doctor - I had an X-ray, a CT scan, and a session with a brilliant physiotherapist, and I now feel in control. :D

Nothing to do with diabetes, by the way!

hi Suzy... it's probably a good idea to get checked by your doc as it could be anything really. But strangely enough for me when I'm out and about... if I get a hypo.... I start pulling to my left too. I've walked into walls and shopping shelves and things like that... always on the left. I generally feel off balance of course when this happens. But when I test my BGL it's too low and I have to treat the hypo immediately. Perhaps you should just check what your BGL is at the time when it happens just to make sure it's not related to diabetes directly. :)

I would strongly urge you to go and get yourself checked in case you've have a stroke - probably very unlikely, but you should get yourself checked. I didn't realise at first that I'd had a stroke and I was stumbling and falling to the left.

Does it happen if you try to run/walk when not on the treadmill? If so then definitely consider seeing the doctor.

It could be the treadmill, If the belt is slipping slightly then it can make you a bit unbalanced. This can cause problems particularly if, you favour one leg over the other.(perhaps because of 'poor' running technique or your anatomy, or a previous injury)

I've had a stroke too and my left sid is definitely weaker.
