I've been noticing a slow but sustained downward trend in many of my BG readings, leading to a reduction in the average levels over the past few months two and I'd be interested to hear experiences from other members of this group.
I record all my tests on the mySugr app. The averages aren't that scientific but they have gone from 7 early this year to 5.8 now, pretty much tracking a slow and sustained weight loss of a couple of stones. Individual BG readings have hit new lows as well, with some now in the high 4's and most late afternoon levels around 5 (largely no matter what I've had for lunch). Early morning levels are in the high 5's or low 6's, when they used to be in the 8's. I've also noticed the post-prandial levels are going down faster than they used to.
Whoopy-do, you might think, and so should I. However, I've developed a persistent sore left eye, which I've never had before, pains in my hands and feet, and have started feeling generally tired and often lethargic. Another strange symptom is a strong sensation of 'hot feet' when tests are showing my BG levels are falling quite fast.
I'm due to visit my GP in a fortnight (the earliest appointment I could get last week!) but I'd like to have some idea of what might be going on. It would be nice to think that I might be a rather long false hypo but it would be interesting to compare notes with anyone who's had the same experience.
