Fast acting insulin advice

I've just been prescribed fast acting insulin and am either a Type 1.5/LADA (TBC). In order to establish insulin dosage and carbs when after eating should I check my levels. Very confused at the mo.

Hi @Magpieagility :)

Test before the meal, then test again at around two hours after the start of your meal eg start lunch at 1pm, test at 3pm.

After doing the DAFNE Course I now test before and then usually 4 Hours after the meal. If I'm high before I'll do a dose correction using a 1:1 ratio and aim for 5mmols. So much depends on how quickly your quick acting work on you...Keep a food diary.
