Hello everyone, I have a question. When do you measure your fasting blood sugar? Sometimes I wake up earlier and stay in bed for about an hour. Is it still useful to measure the fasting blood sugar then, or does it need to be measured right after waking up?

I don’t think it matters precisely, so long as you are consistent. Personally I take it just before I get out of bed, even if I may have been awake for a while.

It does depend on if you have dawn phenomenon as well.
I would advise waiting thirty minutes after waking, doing preparations for your normal day before breakfast.
But also do take it in a disciplined way.

When I am over eight hrs in bed, I get up, the bathroom is close by , wash up, clean my hands and finger prick right away. Even if I stay in bed for a while it still doesn’t make a big difference, I think.
