Fasting Diet

Hi everyone, I’m quite new to the forum so still finding my way around but I have come across a lot of excellent information.

4 weeks ago I was started on Mounjaro as my diabetic nurse said that not only would it be good for my diabetes but would also help with weight loss however after suffering with horrendous stomach problems for 2 weeks my Dr took me off of it and back on the sitagliptin.

Today I have started myself on a fasting diet so only eating between 11am & 7pm I’ve had lunch and a dinner today and stopped the carbs & sweet stuff in an last ditch effort to help with my diabetes and to lose some weight which will hopefully stop the permanent tiredness and give me a bit more energy , I am type 2 diabetic and was wondering if this is an ok diet for me, thanks in advance.

Welcome @Tonyfranco
Low carb and possibly intermittent fasting really should be the first port of call for type 2 management, not a last ditch attempt.
If you don't eat the food that makes your blood sugar rise, it only stands to reason that your blood sugar levels will be lower.
Weight loss usually follows because carbs cause high blood sugar, high insulin secretion, hunger and fat storage.
Low carb = lower blood sugar, less insulin and fat burning not storage. Don't get too obsessed with weight loss though, it's high blood sugar that does the damage to just about every part of the body. Of course it's desirable and if it happens, fantastic, but concentrate on your blood sugar.
Remember not everyone with T2 is overweight and not all overweight people have T2
