Hi Bulkbiker, let's take last night, I had bowl of vegetable home made soup, 1 large chicken breast, Roasted vegetables and broccoli stems. That was all I have had apart from coffee, with sweeteners. I know they are not good but coffee and water is all I drink in the 22hours.What do you usually eat in your one meal?
Lots of root veg in the soup and roasted veg?Hi Bulkbiker, let's take last night, I had bowl of vegetable home made soup, 1 large chicken breast, Roasted vegetables and broccoli stems. I'm not saying for sure that statins are the cause but they have been known to have that effect..Yeah my cholesterol was high and the doctor put me on them. I've been taking them for about a year. No heart attacks or anything (touch wood) I am quite prepared to stop them as I was thinking of doing that with all the info on them now anyway. I haven't had any side effects (that I know about) "perhaps my sugar levels though....
That's what Dr Fung and Megan Ramos from IDM suggest.. a bit of feast and fast to break up routine and keep your body guessing..Out of interest how long have you been doing the 22hr fasts every day?
I’m wondering if the school of thought that variety helps and any one routine and the body adapts to it. A consideration might be to vary the length of the fasts to shorter and longer and the amount of food taken and possibly throw in a second meal occasionally. Mix it up, keep your body on its toes so it can’t adapt and settle. I’m pretty sure there’s a more scientific description of this available but can’t think of it for the life of me right now.
It is possible to get your insulin production tested with either a c-peptide or a fasting insulin test which would at least show if you are over or under producing endogenous insulin. Whether your GP would be happy (or knowledgable enough) to order this for you is anther matter but it might be worth asking. If not it is possible to get it done privately but its not especially cheap. You see I was wondering if after a while of this sometimes your body just stops producing insulin
Thank you. I knew it came from somewhere far more sensible than me.That's what Dr Fung and Megan Ramos from IDM suggest.. a bit of feast and fast to break up routine and keep your body guessing..
Hi
That's something I'm going to ask him then. What does that show you is happening??
My hba1c rose from 48 to 54 when I took statins so they may have something to do with it.Yeah my cholesterol was high and the doctor put me on them. I've been taking them for about a year.
