Fasting?

I've been diagnosed as a T2 for a few weeks now. I've followed a LCHF diet and my BG levels are now averaging 6mmol throughout the day (testing before and after meals with no spikes detected). My HBa1C was 101 at diagnosis. I'm not taking any medication, as opted to try diet first. However, I feel like I'm a bit stuck at this level now and would like to lower things still.

I think my diet is ok, so I'm wondering about intermmitent fasting to help push levels lower still and hopefully aid some weight loss. I'm thinking of doing this a couple of days a week, and going with skipping breakfast, having something smallish for lunch and then a normal dinner (obviously, still LCHF). Have others done this and noticed improvements in BG and weight? I'm approx 130kg and 6'3ft so have weight to lose and am a bit frustrated that that doesn't seem to be happening yet.

Any tips on fasting? what works and what doesn't? I know it will be an individual thing, but any guidance would be great. Thanks :-)

Great effort so far @Magneto2009. This may help. The way you plan to approach IF is much like how I tend to do things normally. I would say this is all very, very N=1 but if it helps at all: drink plenty, ideally water but with some salt dissolved maybe a tsp per pint or failing that some LC bouillon or stock cubes - hm bone broth? No one is typical so what you experience will be normal for you. I found constipation and waking at zero dark 30 were issues but others sleep like a log. I did lose 25% of peak body weight and come back to non D levels within 3 months - with exercise as well. Best wishes.

Yep did that exactly.. skipped breakfast (just coffee with double cream x3 per morning) went to just lunch and dinner.. after a while that ended up being late afternoon light meal (about 3-4 pm) and proper dinner at about 7pm.
Your regime sounds about pretty perfect to me.. started at 146 kg and now reside at about 95kg with a longterm aim of 80kg.. trying for that target this year.
