Fat Fast Starting Monday 3rd August

Great results there our man down under. And did you weigh the cast when you took it off as one concern was not to put weight on whilst your leg was recovering.

How's the BP - didn't measure mine.

Morning troops

Fasting bloods 5.3. Probably due to lateness of supper and actually had a meal. Hugh salad yum yum. Bit of camebert bit of feta Cople pieces salami chorizo and pancetta. 3 chicken wings. 1 wine. Hopefully that the wine out of the way now till end of the month.

5.5 mile run.

No ketone test this am. Running low on strips!

I've already offered my 100ml glass to Baruney but I'm sure he would share it with you if you wanted. I just hope he would pack it very carefully for the long journey to you and that you would return it before next Tuesday in case I get hooked on the Spanish reds whilst I'm away.

Well done by the way.

Thank you so much for the kind offer@WeeFergus,but I already have a favourite quaffing vessel, which holds much more than 100mls. Yours sounds as though it might be a medicine glass, or even an eye bath. Are you sure it even holds enough to wet your whapple? Watch out for that Rioja, by the way - it can take insidious hold!

They told me that the cast was about 1.5kg or so, and looking at my leg I can believe that all the weight loss came from there.. I did not lose as much weight as you did, but perhaps I am nearing a final set point now. In fact, I will probably slowly increase to around 67kg as I feel really well at that weight, and I won't have to buy new clothes!
One aim was not to put on a lot of weight through being perforce, sedentary, but I didn't want to lose very much either, so really couldn't be a better result for me.
However, I plan to stay in ketosis as that will give me more energy to pursue my interests.
I will be on the hill tomorrow, watching the dawn. And trying not to be bowled over by kangaroos.

My BP machine had a malfunction, so I have no idea what my BP has been doing, but I find the ignorance curiously blissful.
Baruney, you should immediately put 3.5 kg weights in your backpack for a couple of days, so that you can feel your success properly when you take them out. Or you could infuriate your local supermarket manager by piling up equivalent packs of butter, like Moshe did.

Well I've a lot more to lose so % weight loss rather than actual number perhaps. Plus that was easy weight to lose due to carb creep over the prions few weeks. Don't worry about the Roos- Bowled - over - too easy merrylizard.

Well, too easy this year, There will be others.
Are you still aiming for 75%fat from now? And not heeding calories too much?
I am just heading out into the lovely morning which is almost 1degree already.
Feeling energetic and buzzing.

80% for the time being. An eye on cals but not too much. Protein increase but not too much. Carb increase from salas and veg. In 3 weeks time hopefully I'll be on the home leg oh the run/walk. This weekend was in Brighton and ran up to Devils dyke - mind you had to run up a fulking great hill to get there!

Amazing @Baruney. And your journey was a fascinating read. Best wishes. AJ. X

@nomistheman good luck to you Nom

@nomistheman, so glad to see that you are back.
Those are spectacular results, and no need to worry too much about stratospheric ketones if your BGLs were low-ish.
How did you do the carb re-feeding? Was it like intermittent fasting? Because that is what I seem to be doing, having moderate to high carbs, and then Fat Fasting. But I am not certain that it wouldn't be better with water fasting on alternate days, which is what I am going to do for the next 2weeks.

So glad you have been able to rejoin us. So happy. If I was a dog, I would be searching for another tail to wag - one would just not be enough!

Edited to attach pics of today and last 7 days

That Fulking hill is very steep, judging by the contour lines! How are your calf muscles holding up? There is a very steep hill near me, but I only climb there if I feel super fit because I hate only getting halfway up!

The fat fast thread has been fascinating reading from the 3 lovely folk who posted their progress & results. I have no desire to do anything remotely like it, but you have my utter admiration for the success of your experiment. Congrats to you all. X I suspect the following pic sums up my idea of the perfect fat fest.

I'm so glad you all came through your ketosis!
I do believe it's been a successful trial for all three of you.

I can see reading your posts and summary that your energy levels are very good.
Do you feel better?
If tired, do you get that good tired and not lethargy?

As I don't count anything and discount calorie counting as a part of any fast. The amount you eat has dropped? Do you feel more able to control your blood glucose levels?

Have their been any side effects?

Do you plan to stay in ketosis? Or do you intend to have another fast?

I don't suffer from any ill effects from being in ketosis!

Well done all three of you! Congrats!
