I love watching films, always have and always will, but like trying to name your favourite song ever, it is hard to decide which would make the top 5. Anyway here's mine in no particular order although I may change my mind again later! :?

1) Whatever to baby Jane

2) Kes

3) The godfather

4) Saving private Ryan

5) Road to Perdition

Anyone else care to list their favourite films?

Most recent 'favourites'
La vie en rose and Charlotte Gray ( the latter probably because I watched it in the little cinema at St Antonin where some of it is set)
Longtime favourite
The Trap with Oliver Reed and Rita Tushingham , possibly the first adult film I saw.
The one i'm slightly ashamed of
The Rocky Horror Picture Show, again memories of youth, though I admit to seeing it at the theatre even fairly recently. I sometimes run on the treadmill whilst watching the video but have to take care not to ' to get carried away and jump to the right and step to the left' whilst on a 3ft belt !

soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
I love "The Assasination Bureau"
An utterly preposterous story starring Diana Rigg and Oliver Reed, with Telly Savalas.
The Performances are actually superb as are the settings and costumes. Right near the end they filmed outside Prague in a place I know well. It's hilarious

I enjoyed "Tron" too. Funny wasn't it that The first CGI movie was like that?

I chose 'Whatever happened to Baby Jane' as it was my mothers favourite film, and as a child every time it was on tv my mother would watch it. So I have seen it a few times, but it use to scare the life out of me as a small child, Bette Davis terrorising her innocent sister(Joan Crawford) through jealousy and spite was acting at its best. Two excellent actresses put together in one hell of a story line, I could watch it again now.

I chose two of mine because the great Judi Dench starred in them. She is a wonderful actress in my book.

Having no energy as this is so limiting.
I have always loved 'Harvey' starring James Stewart which is very old but stands the test of time. :D
