So if your cholesterol is fine and the statins wrecked your blood glucose why not stop taking them. There’s a lot of us in here that don’t adhere to the every diabetic should be on them mantra nor the heavily challenged views that total cholesterol matters. There’s numerous threads on the subject and a lot of research and studies available if you want to educate yourself on that.

What sort of levels do you have and what drugs are you on currently? You say you eat healthy but what does that actually look like? The typical low fat diet is usually high in carbs and does a type 2 no favours whatsoever. Following it isn’t a failure as it’s what most drs and nurses have advocated - though increasing numbers are waking up to the craziness of telling carb intolerant people to eat carbs and accepting that not all fats are bad, some are essential and beneficial . Spoiler: naturally occurring fats are great and processed seed and veg oils are bad.

I stopped all statin some time ago much to the doctors frustration. I just could not get out of bed due to muscle cramps. Stopped the statins and no more issues. tried 3 different types and all bad for me.

Diabetes is a progressive disease, and can get worse in spite of everything you do. Insulin isn’t failure, it’s a positive step to help you to continue to manage your diabetes.

Type 2 doesn’t have to be progressive. That view is heavily challenged by the studies of the last few years into remission achieved through non medicated options. The ”evidence” that says it is is based around care protocols advocating eating the very foods that cause us issues (starchy and sugary carbs) and assuming a medication based treatment which addresses the symptoms not the cause.

If read around you’ll have your eyes opened wide to the possibilities. Insulin does have its place when all else has been tried but it doesn’t to be (nor shouldn’t be) anywhere near as prominent as it is in type 2 management. It can even be counterproductive for many.

Who on earth told you that? It is, I'm, glad to say, absolute total nonsense and many type 2s will never require insulin, or even medication if they get the correct advice about their diet or have the knowledge to work it out for themselves.
