Defiantly ticking them clear enough lol , I make sure of that .Mmmm. Sounds to me like an "admin" issue...
I can't recall an ordering problem with my surgery, ever..!
Your ticking the boxes clear enough...?
Thank you so much for sending me this Link , I shall print this off and be taking it with me to my appointment with the doctor .Cloe, print the following off and remind your Dr of the letter that was sent out to all gp surgeries in February 2013:

They definitely should not be restricting your insulin, bring this to their attention immediately.

I have been there tonight and now have an appointment with my doctor Monday to hopefully get things sorted out .
Thank you for your reply .
I reckon a face to face with your doc should sort it...
Personally I would make a note of the maths regarding medication & usage so as to clarify the frequent repeats on prescription..
Mention your intention on the strip use regarding diabetes control for the pregnancy..
If your frustated with the surgery's reception staff you are entitled to comment on this too..
The link that Noblehead gave you, personally I would keep that in reserve if there is no satisfaction with your GP. "Pull out the big guns" so to speak.
Sorry @noblehead , the link is great & I've even bookmarked it myself...I'm just talking "strategy"..!
Remember you doc should know it's all about promoting good diabetes control to avoid long term health issues.... You seem like a sensible individual trying to keep good health, I'm sure yer doctor will appreciate this.... Good luck!
Oh wow this sounds amazing , especially with getting past and not having to deal with the receptionists .If you register as an online patient- you could message the surgery. Mine goes straight to the prescription clerk.
My query this week was to ask for a private prescription for a drug that I have that is red marked and the ccg will not pay for it. Query went straight to clerk and script ready to pick up in 48hours.
I have messaged the surgery online for a number of different queries..it beats getting past the receptionists.

It also sounds like you have no problems or issues receiving prescriptions this way .
Shall be looking into going online with my prescriptions . As I know others have suggested to do so to .
Thank you for replying.
Thank you for giving me all the above information , I am going to be setting up an online account , wether I can do this myself if not I will set it up with the doctor on Monday , I will also ask to see if I can up my prescription with the online way of doing things , to save me going up there every 1-2 weeks as it's becoming a bit of a pain . I do have a nice doctor so I'm hoping she can sort this mess out for me .Online does not stop you doing things the oldfashioned way, but even for making appointments it is brilliant.
All GPs have a target set to them of getting 20% of patients online by next April. (So you can see at the moment) that your messages, and certainly getting appts is easier as so few patients are actually doing it....
If people can shop on internet, they can certainly go online for gp messaging, and prescriptions and appointments.
Eventually results and reports should be online too, but NHS England are a bit slow at pushing this in fully for GP's to do...

Thank you for your support .Feel for you cloe-1992, you shouldn't have to go through all that. Hope you get it sorted.
The thing that worries me in these types of issues is one day, they may just do that to someone who is depressed and feeling overwhelmed with it all, not feeling that they have the strength to argue any more, and there is the real possibility that they will just turn and walk out of the surgery without their medication and give up.

Oh right ok brilliant , thank you for that .If I remember correctly. I obtained my "log in details & password" in the form of a print off letter from the reception at my surgery.. Which by my reasoning, the account must have been already set up on their site... I had to take proof of ID too.
But they were V helpful.

Brilliant I shall get onto that .You need to get your receptionist to register you as an online patient, they give you a form to take home with a registration number to use.
Most practice also do 28day repeat prescription services. You should not have to ask every 2 weeks. All this is doing is making more work for the staff who should have better things to do. GP practices are having to change with the times.. Lloyds chemist and Boots are brilliant too, they will set up 28day prescriptions and ensure that they always have the stock as needed and you just collect them from the chemist.
Speak to your GP and ask why you have to faff around every 2 weeks for your prescriptions, and point out that all it is doing is creating double the work for the prescription clerk at the practice !

From what I've read on here , they sound very helpful . And good at what they do .I'm very impressed with my local Boots who process my prescription. The pharmacist even noticed an error on my prescription, caused by an 'update' to the GP's systems, and alerted me to the mistake and promised to sort it out with the GP.
