Feeling down

My picture is a bit out of date but why cant you eat what you want and just inject more fast acting insulin to compensate for the extra carbs / sugar?

If i have a large meal i just have more fast acting to help compensate for it.

I also go to the gym and do i intensity class's and work outs 3 times a week.

Because @princessleia29 is a Type 2 controlled by diet and exercise

My apologies, but still, in the case of type 1's cant this be done?

Yes, maybe, if the T1 in question felt the same sadness about food restrictions as the OP on this thread. Not a good idea though, would make the T1 diabetes harder to deal with. I know, because I tried to carry on regardless, almost as if the T1 diagnosis hadn't happened.

I realise that in your case you're doing loads of exercise.

But maybe start a new thread on this ?

If you want to treat your family to a take-away - do so. You may suffer for it BS wise the following day, but as long as you get back on the wagon and go back to eating healthy afterwards it shouldn't do you any major harm. There is nothing to stop you having the odd slice of cake either. It is everything in moderation. We all need the odd treat - so don't start to believe that your life is ruined by diabetes, just make the healthy choices most of the time and bad choices occasionally.

stress makes you more upset if you thingk about this things ,
you have to fight with yourself and smile
then see lots of changes its simple try once
win it

Hi. I felt angry about food when first diagnosed but gradually I realised that I now know just how much junk food there is in the shops, on TV etc and can have a bit of pity for the majority who stuff themselves with this junk, get fat and shorten their lives. I do have Chinese food, fish & chips, cake etc every so often but it's only occasional. I do try to avoid silly cakes with icing topping, sugar-cream inside or just excessive sugar. I go for plain currant, ginger or carrot cake when I can. Even with Chinese food there are lower-carb things on the menu. BTW just be careful with Weight-Watchers as it's focussed around calories and the low-fat mantra. We need to focus around carbs and keeping them down. Some Weight-Watchers foods (expensive?) are quite high in carbs.

Well done on your weight loss so far princess, that's a great result :)
I haven't got any more advice other than to agree with what's been said already. It sounds like you're doing well overall so the occasional treat won't hurt. Enjoy it!

Being diagnosed a year ago I still miss some of the foods I no longer eat.
Chinese takeaway and pizza's were my faves.
its hard there's no denying it, you've done well with your weight loss and controlling your levels, a treat now and then won't hurt .
