So yesterday I had appointment with my diabetic nurse , over the past 2/3 years my diabetes control has improved a lot ! My hba1c was 12.2% 3 years ago I've tired many different insulins and I found the one that's best for me is novo rapid and tresiba , I got my hba1c down to 7.7 with hard work slowly it started to go up 8.1 and yesterday to find out it's gone up again to 11% I don't no what to do anymore I stopped drinking I eat a good diet . Always check my sugar levels always go to my check ups and keep a good eye on everything. I'm so fed up I'm doing everything right and still it's not good enough! I don't no what else to do I worried about everything my eyes heart etc... I've had it for 22 years and it just seems to be getting harder ...

Hi and welcome. I am similar to you at times, it's like banging your head against a :banghead: . Well done on getting your Bs down, but why's it gone up ? Have you spoken to your DSN about the rise as 11% is high and your Insulin may need adjusting.
What about your diet, has that changed at all, other medications, have you check the use by date on your Insulin's or have you been poorly, worried or stressed as these can put type 1's BS a lot  ?
I am sorry to hear of your frustration and concern, many have or still are, feeling the exactly the same.

Take care and I really hope you can lower your BS soon.

RRB :)

Aww, that must have been disappointing after you've put so much effort into it. :(

One thing that REALLY sucks about diabetes is that so many things have an effect on our blood sugar levels. Stress, illness, menstrual cycles and other hormonal changes, weight gain and weight loss, diet changes, routine changes.. all of these things, and others, cause our insulin needs and our body's response to insulin to change. You just need to identify which of them is upsetting your control at the moment. You don't have to do that alone, you have people on this forum and your medical team to help as well.

Can you think of any changes in your body or routine over the last few months?

Just looking at one of your previous posts you mentioned that your Dr wanted you to start on a pump early last year, whatever came of that as I would have thought you would have been using by one.

When things go astray it's best to start with checking your basal insulin, have a look at the following which explains how you should do a basal check correctly:

Also, if you've not done a carb counting course such as DAFNE then I strongly suggest you get your name down, its nearly always a prerequisite for anyone going on an insulin pump so your better doing one sooner rather than later if you haven't done the course already, if you have and forgot some of the information have a look at the following, its a on-line version of the DAFNE course:

Do discuss the possibilities of a pump again with your diabetes team, good luck.
