Hi, this is my first post on the site but i have been diagnosed for 3 and a half years. My control has always been really good, and my hba1c are all in the right area. Im only diet controlled but within the last 2 weeks i have been noticing changes ie feeling absolutely exhausted, finding going to work difficult, feel like i could sleep non stop!! I never usually test but thought it would be a good idea, sugars are up and down like a yoyo, whereas they were stable before, i cant think of anything i have done different so wondered if any one could shed any light on what could be happening. Also been feeling shaky, light headed, disorientated and confused. Any meal is making me even more tired and agitated. ????? help :?

I am no expert, but it sounds as though your body is changing. Depending on the nature of your personal type of diabetes, this could be your pancreas getting more worn out, or your insulin resistance getting worse, or perhaps your weight has changed?
Since you are diet controlled, it may be that the time has come to ask your doctor for help on this one, with appropriate drugs to level out these spikes.

Hi Kate!

Are you in good health otherwise? It may not be anything to do with your diabetes, could be you've got an infection or something which is making you feel bad and affecting your BGs.

I think you should go and have a chat with your doctor. Keep a record of how you feel, your BG levels and what you eat, and discuss it with him/her.

Let us know how you get on.

Hi Viv & Spendercat.

Thanks for taking time to read my post and replying. In good health, well reasonably, i tend to get infections alot but at this moment im ok. I think a visit to the GP is a good idea. ive lost abit of weight over summer, nothing drastic though. Hope it isnt time for medication that would be disappointing but it seems like the likely answer. Thanks again
