Feeling good

Don't know when you were diagnosed or what regime you are on, but levels of 10 are still quite high and need to come down....

10 after eating for a newly diagnosed T1 would be acceptable, but HCP's would be looking to adjust to lower the peaks down. Levels consistently at 10 for a new type 1 would stil need adjusting with meds....are you doing this?

I have been diabetic for over 10 years and my bs levels are great this week been keeping a close eye on them and mostly between 5 - 7 so am well chuffed as it had all gone to pot missing testing and insulin but this past week with controls I'm getting make me feel a lot better xx

good to hear!

Your definately on the right track!

When i was sort of in your position i started by setting myself targets and lowering them little by little.

I think it's much easier to give up if you set yourself a target that your not really going to acheive in the beginning and is likely to make you feel like there's no point as your failing.

Stick to being under 10 for a while, and once you've got that nailed then aim for under nine.

This is good for many reasons, lowering your BG's slowly is better as a drastic reduction can cause any retinopathy to worsen in some cases.

Also if you've been running high for a while you want to avoid phantom hypos (falso hypo's at a normal BG level because the body is so used to running higher)

You must be feeling pretty great! Getting better results and you must be feeling better overall!

Keep going at it :D
