Type 2 due Habc1 needed to get readings back on track. So started lchf diet. Felt great to start full of energy bit of weight loss. More importantly glucose down from 11 to 5.1 this morning. But for the past few days I'm tired I feel like I can't be bothered with anything. Everything is an effort. Been on under 30 carbs a day could this be the problem. Any help would be appreciated

It could be your body adjusting to the lower carb levels. Have you dropped carbs significantly to get to 30g? How long ago did you start?

Same thing happened to me when I started out. It’s worth persevering if you’re getting results as once your body adjusts you’ll be full of energy.

Started a month ago and yes I have dropped the carb intake by quite a bit. Just finding the lack of energy quite difficult to cope with. I will keep it up and persevere and as you say hopefully everything will pick up.

Hi, not a true flu but do an internet search for carb flu. Keep going, it does pass.

Are you getting enough fat in your diet?
For decades fat has been demonized and it can be difficult to overcome fat phobia,

Interesting I put my info in for weight loss and it gave light moderate and fast weight loss and the fat %went down - it validated for me what I experience that if I eat too much fat and don't count calories I gain/stall my weight loss and low LCHF is not a free ride to eat as much fat as you can inhale lol

If you were doing Atkins, which is where most of my experience lies - after starting eating low carb back in the 1970s, I'd suggest eating another 5 or even 10 gm of carb a day - after the first month that is what you'd normally be trying out, and you should find that your energy levels pick up, so you can be more active.
I'd check with you though that you are eating low carb foods, my personal limit is 10 percent carbs, as you might be, mistakenly, eating just a little high carb food - and that normally takes away energy due to the insulin response. It might seem odd that the same amount of carbs from bread, pasta or potato, even legumes, has a different effect if eaten as salad or low carb veges, but I have been told that it does, and found the same myself when I tested those foods for their effects on my BG.
I now know that all the foods which stopped weightloss are exactly those which raise my BG levels, so I do wonder just how long I have been diabetic.
If you check that your BG levels are not going high after meals with a few extra carbs then it is a good sign that your metabolism is getting back into balance - I found that after meal readings of no more than 8mmol/l were the turning point. After that my BG levels dropped (or bounced around like mad) so I knew that something was happening.

Eat fats to satiety. The calories from fats and the calories from carbs are not equal on any level be it energy availability or the mechanism of metabolisation.

I agree, but newbies come here and embark on the LCHF and often overeat on the fat then ask why they don't lose weight. In my weight loss journey I didn't have to count at first but certainly my last 6st of weight loss I did have to count everything including calories- I still do.

I actually don't like animal fats that much including cream, I eat normal fats from avocado, a few nuts and cold pressed oils. Strangely for me overeating fats gives me cravings for carbs??? - although I suspect it's really salt I'm craving

Aye we are all different. I do 'inhale' fats but I am having difficulties keeping my weight up. Never counted a calorie before.
