Feeling really low

Hi everyone, I have been recently re diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and feeling pretty low as my bloods are still far from perfect.

Don’t get me wrong, they tend to flare up at this time of the month due to hormones but still not it the right range even when I try really hard.

I’m already on a low carb and obviously low sugar diet but I think that they will put me on insulin.

I just want to know my situation, due to me having retinopathy and to generally put my mind at ease.

I just want a life and to be able to be relatively normal but can’t seem to get it right

its a bad time of the year to. run up to christmas is always depressing to me cant seem to ever get into the mood. the short days impacts your meritonin sorry bad spelling. vit d is even more reduced. so in all plus your time of the month its not surprising your down. cure a long holiday in the sun. or vit tablets and an sun replacement light.

Hi @CrankyKat. I hope the retinopathy treatment you had a few weeks ago has helped, although I know you were understandably anxious to be going through that. It is a difficult time of year to be feeling low, but sometimes stressful things happen to coincide with the winter darkness and festivities unfortunately.

I really hope they manage to sort out your situation so that you are not so much "in limbo" as recently. I know you have something special to look forward to next year (you are getting married, so is my daughter who is about the same age). Best wishes for 2018!

(My 2017 was pretty bad for all sorts of reasons, and not just because I was diagnosed with T2D. I have high hopes for next year!)

Edited to remove the inaccurate word "laser" in first paragraph.

Hi all,

Not only have my bloods not come down but I have woken but with no voice plus I have an eye appointment today so such fun!

Pretty fed up with having my bloods so rubbish just because of my hormones ... basically means I can’t have anything to eat which really sucks.

Sorry to be so low and sad I’m just feeling like someone wants to keep kicking me down every time I go to get up.

You're having a tough time and I feel for you.
Sometimes we get a little blind-sided by all the success stories and it's easy to feel left behind or a bit inadequate - I have in a way.
However, I suspect that many people are where they are today having been through some pretty grim times. Don't think others haven't been frightened too, because they have. You're not on your own.
What is good is that folk on here genuinely want to help. Many, many have benefited from both advice and pats on the back they've received.
You've laid yourself bare but, if you wish, tell us a bit more about yourself or what your diet's like, maybe it'll give us something to work with to try and help.
Bit of a ramble this, but it's well-meant.
Good luck and stick with it.

Beijing sick and hormones naturally mean your numbers will be high. So cut yourself. Some slack, beating yourself up won't help.

Hope the eye appointment is helpful though.

I find this time of year difficult too, the pressure to be happy and merry regardless of how you feel inside and the thought that people will just tell you to cheer up.

Could you eat a no carb/v.l.c meal? Something soothing to help you feel a bit better?
