Feeling really nervous

Hi @coby - Worry/Stress raises blood sugars. So, I would not worry about testing and your last result. Drink plenty of water as it helps to stabilize glucose in the bloodstream and flushes out your system. You don't say if you are just diet controlled or on medication for the Diabetes?:)
If it helps? Get a notebook and jot things down so you can remember information. It does help you know to do this.:)

Lancets can be used many times and they don't go bad just sitting. I am glad you have a friend to help sort things out

Liam1955 I take two metformin per day ... breakfast time and teatime. It was three to start with (Jan 2016) but was reduced in May. I fall asleep after lunch and dinner, which concerns me, so this is why I need to know if my sugars are high after meals really. I only had wholemeal seeded bread toast with butter on, followed by a few nuts and two choc chip cookies, but it rose to 9.5. Hope it was only the cookies at fault? They are so tiny too

Yes @coby You are right to the Chocolate Chip Cookies = you naughty Girl! My downfall is Custard Creams - cannot eat two, got to eat the whole packet! So don't buy them instead buy Ginger Nuts as my Partner likes them, so I just eat 2. But, always check on food products the sugar content and go for the lowest amount.
Metformin is to be always taken with Food, it can cause stomach upsets (or even worse = bowel problems) if taken on an empty stomach.
Target blood sugar levels for Type 2:
Before Meals. = 4. - 7.
2 hours after. = 9. (Some will say 8.5)

Who would have thought two tiny biscuits can cause such a rise! Today by 'before lunch' was 5 and my two hrs after was 5.8 ( no biscuits hee hee)

Well Done @Cody that was a good result 2 hours after Lunch. :). It's easy when you seriously think about food and what you eat. :)Liam
