Hi, I’ve been type 2 for a few years now and all seemed fine, well as fine as can be, I had a episode of depression a couple of years ago after life and everything got on top of me, l have been taking metformin about a year now, my problem is that most mornings I get an incredibly low emotion, everything seems weigh me down, but after a few hours I’m back up normal again, is this a symptom of the diabetes or still the remnants of the depression or both?,
Any help in this is appreciated, thanks

Have you had your vitamin B12 levels checked? Metformin can reduce them, and then you can feel low and tired due to needing some B12.

I'm with @lucylocket61 ; After taking met for a while your B12 can drop, causing all sorts of issues. How are your blood sugars doing? How's your HbA1c? Because high-ish bloodsugars can also make one feel more depressed than they usually would, and since it's the mornings that bother you, and Dawn Phenomenon pushes blood sugars up in the AM, that could be the issue as well.

I hope you'll feel better soon. This is a difficult time to live through as it is, with all that's going on with covid, so... Be gentle with yourself. (And do get your Vit B12 checked. If you can't because the surgery is full up, no harm in just getting a supplement and seeing whether it makes a difference. Might be more time efficient.)
