Fibromyalgia

Your words are inspirational...psychological condition by parents is a huge factor in all our lives... and that alone can be hard to change or live with to be honest.

One thing I know that my pain psychologist told me and stays with me though is that we have to accept what we are-we cant look back to say "5 years ago I was so active".... she told me that tgey realise now that pain is real and its a good step to get help to handle that pain by accepting it and using the distraction techniques and changing our ways of thinking about it...

I was in agony with my radiotgerapied chest, still am to the same degree but my thinking about it is different now... and therefore I accept what I can do rather than thinking what I can't do.

It just goes to show just how significantly individual we are but how some things like the parenting aspects are all so similar..

Thank you for words around my friend. She has brought me absolute brighness in my life. My hubby and dog agree to, she is my true wellness factor.

I will pass on your comments to her. Thankyou...

And best wishes to anyone trying to get thru the pain in life and fibro.. just never give up...

Hi Phil

I’m T2 and my doctor has diagnosed fibromyalgia still waiting on specialist appointment though to have a final diagnosis.

I am in constant pain on lantus injections which the injections are even more painful because (told by doctor) of my fibromyalgia
.

I’m still trying to get to grips with my diabetes still not sure what I’m doing and still trying to come to terms with the lifestyle changes which comes with being diabetic.

I have disc degenerative in my spine as well, which of course (told by doctor) is even more debilitating because of fibromyalgia.

I suffer from headaches often, I have no energy at all. And the pain...well I’m so fed up with being in pain all the time I give up telling my partner how much pain I’m in unless of course my cry out in pain.

Feel like a hypochondriac most of the time.

Now I am the proud owner of scoot scoot (mobility scooter) walking stick and commode! I’m 43 but feel like 93 most of the time!

My memory is bad don’t know if that’s down to anything.

Plus I have been told that once I change to injections for diabetes it’s all down hill from there...great! Apparently high risk of turning into T1.

I don’t know if that’s true or not though would love for some input from anyone on here on that part.

I have excruciating pain in my feet on occasions and also have gotten worse over the past few months with restless leg syndrome again I don’t know if that would be connected to diabetes or fibromyalgia?

Anyway it’s nice to know I’m not the only one with t2 and fibro!

Keep strong

You cannot change from a T2 to a T1 unless the dics misdiagnose you.... they are two entirely different pancreas problems.

Please read all dstails relating above to my friend with a rare dystonia... let it give you the wisdom to think that you can still be happy and put a smile on your face....

Life is what you learn to handle and get to grips with...accept and make the most of everything...moaning to a partner about pain does nothing... asking or help when you need it.. ie I cant put out wheelie bin when full, could you do jf? Byt I will bring it in"... and finding new ways to adapt is better than moaning that you cant do xxxxxx.

We still have to value others around us and find ways to cope, not ways to moan....

Life is too precious to waste on.l negativity.. telling someone you appreciate their help is better than telling them you are proud of having a scoo scoot. My friend would do anything to be without carers and her 6 wheel mobiliser. She would do anything to be able to get herself a glass of water.....value what you have..

Hi Caatman1970 I also have fibro and an underactive thyroid it certainly is making life challenging

I'm being encouraged to be tested for fibromyalgia. A&E Dr has started me on pregabalin 150mgs for pain but he didn't mention fibro nor nerve damaged just for me to try the drug to reduce my on-going pain.
It is helping with internal spasms but not muscular ones in my back..
Anyone else on pregabalin?

I was on pregabalin for a few months last year to cope with neuropathic pain in my foot caused by abdominal surgery for cancer.
I found in the beginning it made me quite woosy, sleepy and like I was in a dream. I adapted to it after a few days though, and found it was really good for the pain. It does take a while for the full effects to kick in, ( again, a few days)
Good luck with it.
