Type of diabetes
Don't have diabetes
Went for another random blood sugar test after not eating for 3 hours. It was 8.9 and the GP suggested that I get a HBa1c done!!
Could it still be diabetes??

Hba1c shows what your blood sugars have been like over the last 2-3 months and is one of the tracking / diagnostic test in diabetes

Yes it could. Although the random blood test doesn't usually attract interest unless it is above 11 I have to say that after three hours it would be disappointing if your sugar was 8.9. This is far from disastrous and I think your GP is wise to suggest and Hba1c test. Who knows, you may be fine.
