Re: finacial help

Not as far as I'm aware. You are on your own if its just diabetes that has grabbed you and you are still fully limbed and able to shuffle from A 2 B with your mind still intact :!:

Re: finacial help

I think its ridiculous that before I turned 16 I was entitled to disability then as soon as I hit 16 it stopped.

Re: finacial help

Noo, I mean before I was 16 it was silly to even get it in the first place. Im going to try get the dextrose tablets on prescription though. There like 50p a packet and I can get few quite a few. Going through very hard financial times at the moment. Got a daughter, mum is on the edge of leaving work due to ill health but she won't get help paying the mortage if she does. Im in a part-time job.

Ahhhhh Okie Dokie.....My bad  Sorry.

No worries. I didn't make it clear. Sometimes I type so fast I miss stuff out, lol.

Have you considered working tax credit and child tax credit? They are not paid in relation to having diabetes but to anyone on a low income either with or without children. There is info on HMRC website and also a calculator to see if you might qualify based on your income. Also, Housing Benefit and Coucil Tax Benefit are available to those on low income. Citizen's Advice may be able to help you.

Good luck

Is there any help for me? Im on low wage so is my mum and I have to pay my way too.

Depending on your income you may qualify for Working Tax Credit. You can apply for this even if you don't have any dependant children. If your mum is the householder she may be entitled to Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit. If she is over State Pension age she might be entitled to Pension Credit.

I suggest you check out the HMRC and local council websites. Enter your details in the calculators and it will tell you how much you might be entitled to. Directgov website is also a good place to find out about benefit entitlement.
