First Appointment without official diagnosis?

Just test as the nurse told you at the moment because you are not testing to see how food reacts and you should not really change your diet yet as that will depend on your diabetes type Most of the diet information here is aimed mostly at T2's but is still not the official NHS recommendation so you may be told different by the nurse or doctor then what you do will be your own decision
Phew, glad you agree what I'm doing is right. I'm trying not to change my diet too much but cutting down on carbs and eating no added sugar. Just being healthier to see if I can kick start me feeling better. Woke up this morning with an 18.1 reading though, so feeling incredibly down in the dumps today.

It best to advoid all suger not just added suger, for example orange juice is just as bad as coke.

I can’t see the harm in collecting information at this stage about what foods are doing. Whichever way diagnosis goes it’ll still be useful to understand it.

currently I'm only drinking water or slimline sodas. But no all sugar is bad, fruit and veg is still recommended as far as everything I have read says...

That's what I was thinking, at least I can take that along with my blood sugar readings as they may be able to pick out the patterns more than me at my appointment on Monday
