had my first HBA1C test result, it was 40, cholesterol was 5.6,

The doctor was happy with it.

I was diagnosed diabetic March this year, and I've been following LCFF since, what should I be aiming for from here?

That's very good @MissPooh , well done (and on the weight loss)!.

What was your HbA1c on diagnosis?

I would try and get into (and stay in) the mid-30s if you can.

Thank you sanguine - that was my first HBA1C - I was diagnosed with a fasting blood of 9.2 - I just need to know I'm heading in the right direction :)

You are heading in the right direction, well done, :)on the scale 40 comes in at good

I still have a fair bit of weight to lose, about another 3 stone, at least but I can do it, I know I can, I have to.
Learning about LCFF has been a bit of a revelation, and there's still lots for me to learn.
I'm under no illusion that if I let things slide I'll be straight on to T2 express and I was to avoid that if I possibly can.

Well done, and keep on doing what you're already doing, and you should probably see further reductions.

Have a look at the NICE guidelines here, and if you can manage to stay where you are, then look to aim for near normal levels. But keep your LCFF at a sustainable level so that you're eating a good varied diet, and it's not so strict that you fall off the wagon. Slow and steady is better than fast and furious! :p It's possibly going to be a long term lifestyle change that you're making.
