Had my first HbA1c today since diagnosis and it was 6.0%. I was diagnosed at end of May and it was 12.5 then so I am really really pleased.
My DN was really pleased and very supportive - I told her about the forum and she was really interested. I also told her about low-carbing and she said it was obviously working and if it worked for me then to carry on. She was also pleased that I have lost over 2 stone in that time.
My cholesterol has dropped from 5.3 to 4.6 - and that's without taking the tablets the doctor was trying to push on me - she said that was great too and to give it another 6 months to see if it comes down again.
Thanks to all you out there for your help and support because without this forum and all the info and advice you have provided I wouldn't have known where to start. Perhaps next time I may even make the 5% sofa!!!!
Thanks one and all.
Rita
