First hypo

Hi guys
Yesterday I had my first hypo I didn't really know how to react BCS it was right after dinner I didn't know how to treat it BCS it was right after the meal I didn't know what to eat to treat it so I accidentally overtreated it. What is your advice for my next hypo in a situation like that
 
A spoonfuls of glucose would get you out of the initial hypo and then the carbs you had in the meal would then have a chance to kick in without giving you to much of a high , depending of what type of carbs you had and how many , did you test and how low did you go ?
 
Whenever you have a hypo, you need to treat it with fast acting carbs like jelly babies or glucose tablets. The carbs in the meal you have just eaten may be too slow to react.
Keep a closer eye on your levels after a hypo - you may have another or you may over treat. Don't panic, just learn for next time.
Talking of learning, do you know what caused the hypo? Have you been exercising more than usual? Did you bolus too early? It is useful to try to understand the cause so minimise the risk of a repeat in a similar situation.

Thank you well I actually think it was bcs after injecting the insulin I waited longer than I should and I had a lot of movement until having a meal

I had some caramel chocolate to treat it
 
You need to treat your hypo with 4 or 5 glucose tablets or some Lucozade and then after 10 minutes you need to eat a snack which has 10 grams of carbs in
 
I usually drink juice or tea with sugar. Or caramel candies
Hah, the main advice: don't be scared ;)
 
@Awiiiiin as @Grant_Vicat says, the fat is chocolate slows down the absorption of the sugar. Therefore, it is not a good treatment for hypos.
You must take something that works fast such as jelly babies, cocoa cola or dextrose tablets. Definitely not something fatty like chocolate. Even with caramel in it.

Maybe ok for you. But we are all different. For myself I very rarely need more than 1/2 Jelly Babies/Dextrose and never follow up with extra carbs. Was actually told that is unnecessary if you use the correct amount of quick acting sugar. I would go up into the stratosphere with your suggestion. I only want to put myself back on an even keel and definitely below 8mmol.
 
I,ve had Diabetes for over 40 years and have had many hypos at first I use to just get as much sugar down me just to get rid of the hypo , ( having symptoms of massive starvation during a hypo didn’t help) this resulted in roller coaster blood sugars following a hypo , I was then told ( relatively recently ) the 15, 15, 15 rule, take 15 g of fast acting carb as it happens a mini can of cola is exactly 15g ( coke cola is the only juice which hasn’t removed any sugar content) it works rapidly! Then wait 15 mins then take 15g of longer acting carbs eg biscuits banana etc , this works for me and has prevented the roller coaster blood sugars I use to get

I keep the small tins of Fanta and Dr pepper in the fridge.

If I have a hypo I have one of them then something small like a pork pie not too long later.
This works for me but not everyone else. You'll find what you need to do the more they happen.

Don't over eat though. Even if you are tempted to.
Iv done it once where I had a can of pop, a jam sarnie, bag of crisps and chocolate. This happened in the middle of the night. I just had a hypo which made me feel so hungry
