first week on the gliclazide and my sugars are dropping...

Well my first week on the gliclazide and my sugars are dropping... when I went initially my bg was 24 in the morning

18th 17.3 avg
19th 14.3 avg
20th 12.6 avg
21st 11.9 avg
22nd 9.9 avg
23rd 7.85 avg
24th 8.3 avg
25th 8 avg

My question really is, I assume that this is good. But should I be more concerned about the differing results at times of the day.
 
HI. It looks like the Gliclazide is doing it's job and making the pancreas produce more insulin. Not sure what you mean by differing results at times of the day? The usual meter measure is taken 2 hours after a typical meal and you should be aiming for this to be less than around 8.5. The morning fasting reading is not a particularly reliable measure. Apart form that just watch that your blood sugar doesn't go too low as Gliclazide can cause hypos
 
Those readings are exactly as expected. Keepmonitoring as Gliclazide can cause hypo's but so far your numbers look good. As for different times of the day, you will get different readings but try to look at the bigger picture. Mo
 
Yeah changed a few things.such as not eating as much cereal and eating Greek yogurt for breakfast with berries for example. I am only 11 stones all the advice seems to be for overweight people.
