We all have dreams and aspirations and most are not practical because of the lack of funds.
Can anyone name the five things that would make them contented, not costing the earth and nothing diabetes or health related?
Mine are,
Take an advanced driving test.
To revisit Australia.
To learn a new language.
Not to hoard things I don't use or wear. (I wouldn't need a spare room then).
Revamp my garden.
With the exception of Australia I should be able to manage the others on a budget. I think I am waiting for the fairies to come and help with the spare room and the garden.
These are quite modest really but the list would be totally different if I won the lottery!!!
Catherine.

Mine would be;

1. Clothes sizes beginning with 1.

2.BMI beginning with 2.

3. Body measurements beginning with 3.

4. More than 4 hours sleep!!

5 Hba1c beginning with 5.

If I had that lot I would be ecstatic ,especially the sleep!

Took a while to decide top 5. Here goes:
1. Get down to a size 14-16.
2. Be more patient.
3. Go on a photography course.
4. Have a lot more energy.
5. Explore the surrounding areas with my camera.

Looking at them only 1 and 3 are a bit out of my reach now. :)

1. To see my brother having less epileptic fits
2. To see my mum worrying less over my brother having so many fits
3. To see my eldest son and his wife in a position where they could afford to buy their own property and thus more space to bring up my grandson.
4. To see less aggression in society generally
5. To have enough money and the guts to have my teeth seen to,so that I could smile without feeling ugly

Whoops, just realised I need to revise that list, as some of mine are health related.
I'm changing 1 and 2 to ......

1. To write a book (I did start writing a collection of humorous poems for children years ago but never finsihed it)
2. To get hubby to stop making Hannibal Lecter noises in his sleep...it drives me mad.

3, 4 and 5 as before

1. For my wife to be cured of the arthritis in her knee.
2- When boarding an aircraft to be able to turn left on every flight.
3. To drive a Formula 1 car in the Monaco Grand Prix without crashing it.
4. To get an average of 4 great pictures on my camera out of 10 shots taken.
5. I'll donate this one to somebody who needs an extra wish.

1 - A really good nights sleep
2 - my dog back, we had to get her rehomed recently
3 - my kids to get through Uni and get jobs they are happy in
4 - a very good meal
5 - Lego, lots and lots of Lego

1) Lots of chocolate to eat
2) Living somewhere tropical
3) Me laddo growing up happy
4) Having enough money to be able to make sure family & friends were ok
5) Being a smaller size (so I could wear a bikini on my tropical island!)

Happy day dreams everyone :-)
CurvyP :D

OK, I'll bite.......

1) To have a child
2) To be Mortgage Free
3) To live closer to my best friends
4) To sleep better
5) To NOT drive like a ponce (no confidence) since my accident last January (08)

I'm not holding my breath for any of them. :|

1. Have the money to pay for my family to have a better and worry free life.
2. The world to stop killing and maiming each other.
3. Children not to live in fear or poverty.
4 My garden and house to get a make over.
5. Me to get better nights sleep and loose enough weight to fit in a size 16 again

I know half of these are imposible but I'd like to think one day they could be.

Thanks to all who have replied so far.
None of us seem to be needing a lot in life.
Hope the trend continues.

1. Being well enough to return to work.
2. Not having a family which resembles the Munsters.
3. Something to stop my wife's 150 decibel snoring, (preferably more humane than an elbow in the kidneys.)
4. The ability to take several tons of books to the charity shop without feeling bereaved.
5. Electrolysis so that I never have to shave, ever again. (Does it work in nostrils and ears?)

Hi Thirsty,
I too hate taking books to the charity shop. There are only so many you can accommodate in an average sized house and it is a big wrench. I have left my son instructions that when I die he has to find a good home for my books and not to put them on a bonfire.
Regards,
Catherine.

Obvious aside?

1 To feel well/normal
2 A house by the sea
3 To work part time (couldnt be lady who lunches but could be lady who lunches, HALF the week)
4 To see my sisters and respective family members sort their respective situations and be happy
T5 o just live my life again (see point 1)

I left my 5th wish to anyone who needed an extra one and seeing as no one has picked it up I've just thought of a use for it: A law to be passed that encourages motorists to run over car clampers as a matter of national interest. We don't have car clampers over here in Luxembourg, but I know that if my car gets clamped while I'm visiting England I'm going to be so blooming mad that I'll do something I regret.

I know what you mean about clampers Bill. Was visiting friends in Brighton, parked outside their house in visitor's bay, went in to get the permit to display it and as I came out of the door saw that my car was being clamped. Showed them the permit but they carried on and it cost me £180 on the spot to get it removed. Wrote countless letters but to no avail. I now have to park up and text as soon as I am about ten minutes away and my friend waits in the front garden with the permit.

I know exactly what you mean, Catherine. In that situation I would go ballistic and really do something that would land me in prison. Normally, I'm a pretty calm sort of person, but that kind of scam would really make me lose my rag.

Well here goes my wish list, remembering nothing health related which obviusly is really hard having a diabetic child.
Most of my wish list revovles around my husband who i hastened to add, i do love very much.

No 1. To have a downstairs toilet that works and to be tiled (tiles still in box this last 3yrs!)
No 2. For the upstairs bathroom ceiling to be fixed ( waiting 4yrs)
No 3. For toilet seat to be put down after use (nagging this last 18 yrs.)
No 4. For him to work less and finish all the diy jobs he starts, and i try to finish.
No 5. That hubby sees retirement next year and all above are remedied.

As you can see it all revovles around a busy hubby (bless him) and my home, perhaps my first wish should have been to have an extra 8hrs in a day.
Suzi x

Playing snooker. Taking the bins out. Making sure that all toilet seats are permanently left up. Intentionally leaving the cap off toothpaste tubes. Pretending to know how to fix cars. Making ourselves ill with alcohol. Refusing to do anything when we have a cold and demanding 24 hour intensive care from our spouses. Taking on DIY projects because we're too tight to pay a builder, messing them up and then paying a builder to put it right.

etc. etc.
