After diagnosis last March I've had 1 telephone call and 2 hba1cs, no other help or support from local NHS surgery at all. The main gp sadly died and I was told the diabetic nurse role was vacant.
Today, on a whim, I called the surgery to ask what I should be receiving, and, wait for it...
The cheery helpful receptionist said "We have a diabetic nurse coming in on Tuesdays, would you like to come in see her, or have a telephone call?
No arguments, no why are you asking, no procrastination!!!
So I have a face to face booked for Tuesday
Eagerly awaiting it now. Assume she will get blood tests arranged.
Looking forward to seeing what her views are.
Never have I looked forward to a medical appointment so much.
Feel fully informed and armed (if necessary) thanks to this forum
