Hi I am Flowercity and I am new here, I have type 1 diabetes for 42 years. My recent eye exam showed mild retinopathy and that really scares me.

Hello and welcome to the forums from another T1 (for 52 years).

I've had on and off mild background retinopathy for years (decades) and no one wants to treat it yet, so my suggestion is not to panic but keep going to those eye tests. Eye specialists have had decades of practice at managing people with diabetically damaged eyes and they have got very good at treating them/us.
